André FRAYE
1887 - Born in Nantes ( France ) on october 18th.
1909 - He comes to Paris and works with Maxime Maufra.
He is influenced by the impressionist movement.
1911 - First exhibition in "Salon des Indépendants".
1912 - First exhibition in "Salon d'Automne".
1914 - He painted a splendid portrait of Maxime Maufra : See photo opposite.
He completely took part in the first world war.Many watercolors from this period will go later into the "Musée de la Guerre".
1922 - Blumenthal Price.
1927 - Foreign exhibitions in London, Boston, Tokyo, Stockholm, but also, Anvers, Bruxelles, Wiesbaden, Barcelone and New York.
1947 - In the Durand-Ruel gallery, he exposed his "Portrait of Maufra", next to paintings of Bonnard, Degas, Gauguin, Manet, Monet, Renoir, Vuillard.
Many other exhibitions in the most famous galleries : Druet, Bernheim, Royale, Charpentier, Petrides.
He frequently travelled along the atlantic and mediterranean coasts, banks of Seine and also stayed in Venise.
1963 - He died in Paris on january 16th.
